C&T & Prospero partner with Central School of Speech & Drama on £5.6m Centre for Performance, Technology & Equity
C&T and Prospero are deepening their partnership with the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London, through an ambitious new project to develop state-of-the-art centre for Performance, Technology, and Equity.
The world leading school for the training of performers, theatre makers, practitioners and researchers has been awarded £5.6 million pounds from Research England to develop the centre and aims to pioneer ground-breaking approaches to immersive and digital technologies from a performance-led perspective in tandem with promoting social equity.
The project will expand C&T’s collaboration with Central, who already use Prospero on a range of courses and research projects. It will also involve partners from a of range industries and the wider community including the arts, theatres, festivals, applied theatre, social and restorative justice, industry bodies, technology, manufacturing and SMEs, the centre aims to catalyse research and development at the intersection of performance and technology.
C&T hopes the new centre will deepen C&T’s internationally acclaimed work integrating drama, learning and digital technology, as embodied by Prospero. This includes research and social justice project like the Kenyan Rock Art project, developed with Central last year, training for artists and educators and media and performance production.
