Prospero
in Education
C&T’s Prospero is an innovative digital platform that functions as a Learning Management System (LMS), tailored to enhance creative education in both schools and universities. By integrating drama, storytelling, and interactive technology, Prospero offers educators and students a dynamic environment for collaborative learning and expression.
In collaboration with the New York City Department of Education, Prospero has been instrumental in bringing creative projects to life in classrooms across the city. A notable example is its role in the Little Amal project, where schools used Prospero to explore and share stories of migration. Through interactive maps, videos, and storytelling tools, students were able to connect their personal narratives to the broader themes presented by Little Amal's journey. This initiative not only fostered empathy and understanding but also demonstrated Prospero's capacity to facilitate meaningful, curriculum-aligned projects in diverse educational settings.
At the university level, Prospero has established a significant partnership with the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. This collaboration has culminated in the development of a £5.6 million Centre for Performance, Technology & Equity. The centre aims to pioneer approaches that blend performance with digital innovation, emphasizing social equity. Prospero serves as a foundational tool in this venture, supporting research and practice at the intersection of theatre, technology, and social justice.
