Join us to help transform arts and cultural learning in Worcestershire!

After two hugely successful Creativity Exchange events, Worcestershire Cultural Education Partnership want to take things to the next level, with an exciting new vision for how artists and the cultural sector might engage with schools – and we would like you to be part of it.

We want to make the Creativity Exchange into a year-round celebration of arts and culture in schools, culminating with some wonderful new ways to share young people’s work either locally or at County-wide showcases. With our community of arts practitioners at its core, we think this is an exciting way to inspire teachers and schools to think creatively.

Here’s what we aim to achieve:

  • Bring artists and schools together so we can all create inspirational creative projects in schools and for young people.

  • Create new work opportunities for creative practitioners wanting to work in schools.

  • Provide a means for everyone to work together on a shared theme that is broad enough to give as many schools the opportunity to engage, but builds on the work and skills we already have

  • Celebrate the rich diversity of skills and approaches in our County and to find ways we can celebrate our combined achievements

  • Provide a platform for schools to share their work, collectively raising the profile of the arts in schools and its importance to young people.

But to do this, the arts community needs to take a leadership role. Some of the larger arts organisation in Worcestershire are signed up to support the new Creativity Exchange, but now we need to enlist the support of everyone to help us grow the idea.

To get the ball rolling we are hosting a no-obligation Open Space event at The Angel Centre, 14 Angel Pl, Worcester WR1 3QN, on April 25 from 2pm – 4pm. We want you to join us. To reserve your place email Jason Jones now!

We will explain the idea further, then open up the floor to discussions and planning, so we can all bring our best ideas and skills to shape the new programme.

We will bring refreshments if you can bring your imagination and enthusiasm!

If you are interested in attending this event, please respond to this email with confirmation of your attendance and if you are bringing anyone along with you.

We look forward to seeing you!
