Prospero wins Music and Drama Education Award 2024

C&T collect the award from actor and TV presenter Cerrie Burnell at the Music and Drama Education Awards.

Prospero, the digital theatre and creative learning platform developed by C&T, was named ‘Outstanding Drama Education Resource 2024’ at the Music and Drama Education Awards.

At a prestigious ceremony in London’s Mayfair, Prospero was singled out as an ‘innovative project with lots of potential to upscale.’ The panel of expert judges from across the UK agreed that “Prospero does a brilliant job at combining technology with collaborative learning in drama lessons.” They also commended Prospero for its pioneering efforts to develop as an online space that can become a “community of creatives, teachers and learners… [with] the potential to reach international levels.”

In a category stacked high with amazing practitioners and companies, the judges expressed their “wish to support this mission of growing interactive learning resources for all students.”

The news comes on top of an amazing few months for Prospero, with a host of new content ‘Producers’ signing up to make new interactive content, including Kings’ College London, developing resources for young people with ADHD and the University of Kent for their Play A/Part project.

Dr Paul Sutton, C&T and Prospero’s Artistic Director said of the award : “This is such a fantastic tribute to what we’re trying to develop with Prospero. Our goal has always been to demystify the potential of technology  in theatre education - that’s why we built Prospero, to make digital tools available to everyone. This award recognises how far we have come on this journey and its huge potential for schools and artists everywhere.”
