Join us for the launch of Let’s Walk Worcestershire: making a difference to neurodiverse people in Worcestershire

C&T, Prospero and Worcester’s Monday Night Club and C&T Theatre are collaborating on a major new project for learning disabled people – all thanks to support from the National Lottery Community Fund.

Over the next three years both organisations are going to collaborate on creating exciting digital apps and websites designed to help learning disabled people lead more independent lives.  With The Monday Night Club (Worcester’s ground-breaking organisation for neurodiverse people) extensive experience and networks and C&T’s expertise in creating digital tools the project aims to make a huge difference to the lives of learning disabled people.

With growing awareness of the importance of our mental health, this year the project kicks off with a plan to create a series of interactive walks using mobile phones designed to promote mindfulness.  Using smartphones, the project will create a series of navigable pathways that use audio and video to relieve stress and anxiety.

To help in the process of designing and creating these walks The Monday Night Club and C&T would like to invite Worcestershire residents with a passion for walking to join us at The Royal Porcelain Works on Monday 24th April at 5.30pm.  The event will be a chance for everyone to contribute their thoughts and ideas as to the design of the walks: the routes they might take, the places they might visit or ways in which they might help learning disabled people improve their mental health.

Paul Sutton, C&T’s Artistic Director, said “its brilliant there is a growing awareness of the importance of mental health and how walking can relieve our day-to-day anxieties. This project and event are all about finding ways that Worcestershire can come together to promote these benefits to the most vulnerable of our fellow citizens. Please join us!”

The event starts at 5.30pm and is free. Refreshments provided.
